The 9-day Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari is a special trip where you can experience two amazing parts of Africa: the rainforest and the savanna. You’ll see incredible animals like gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitats.
First, we’ll take you to Kibale National Park, where you’ll explore the rainforest and look for chimpanzees. You’ll spend a whole day walking through the jungle and discovering its beauty.
Then, we’ll head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll get up close to animals like lions and elephants during a game drive. You’ll also go on a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, where you can see hippos and crocodiles.
The highlight of the trip is visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to over 500 gorillas. You’ll spend an hour with one gorilla family, guided by rangers and trackers. It’s an unforgettable experience to sit in the presence of these incredible animals.
Welcome to Uganda! We’ll pick you up from Entebbe International Airport and take you to the Airport Guest House, where you can relax and get ready for your adventure. If you arrive early, you can explore some attractions in Entebbe:
Exploring Entebbe’s Botanical Gardens: These gardens are peaceful and filled with beautiful plants. You can also see many different kinds of birds here.
Visiting Uganda Wildlife Education Center: This is like a zoo where you can see animals like lions, elephants, and giraffes. You can also learn about why it’s important to protect wildlife.
We’ll leave Entebbe and drive west to Kibale National Park. Along the way, you’ll see tea plantations and hills. When we arrive at Kibale, we’ll have lunch and then explore the park.
Kanyanchu Primate Walk – Meeting Chimpanzees: This is a guided walk where you can see many different types of monkeys and chimpanzees. The guides know where to find them, so you have a good chance of seeing them.
Discovering Kibale’s Biodiversity: Kibale isn’t just about chimpanzees; it’s also home to many other animals and birds. You might see elephants, antelopes, and lots of different kinds of birds.
Today is all about chimpanzees and learning about the local culture.
Chimpanzee Tracking: Early in the morning, we’ll go into the forest with guides to find chimpanzees. They’ll tell us where the chimpanzees are, and we’ll follow them. It might take a few hours, but it’s exciting when we find them!
Exploring Bigodi Swamp: In the afternoon, we’ll visit Bigodi Swamp. A local expert will guide us through the swamp, where we can see many different birds and monkeys. It’s a chance to learn about the environment and how people and animals live together.
Today, we’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through beautiful crater lakes along the way.
Afternoon Cruise on the Kazinga Channel: In the afternoon, we’ll go on a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. This is a great opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, and lots of birds.
Evening Savanna Game Drive: Later, we’ll go on a game drive in the savanna. We might see lions, elephants, and other animals as they start their evening activities.
Today is all about exploring the savanna and looking for wildlife.
Morning African Savanna Game Drive: Early in the morning, we’ll go on a game drive in the Kasenyi plains. This is a good time to see animals like impalas, and if we’re lucky, lions.
Journey to Ishasha Sector: After lunch, we’ll drive to the Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for these unique creatures.
We’ll start the day with another game drive in the savanna, looking for more animals.
Morning Savanna Game Drive: Early in the morning, we’ll go on another game drive in the Ishasha plains. We’ll try to find more lions and maybe even a leopard.
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: After the game drive, we’ll drive to Bwindi, where we’ll have lunch and prepare for tomorrow’s gorilla trek.
Today is the day we’ve been waiting for – we’ll trek through the forest to find mountain gorillas.
Gorilla Trekking Adventure: We’ll start early and trek through the forest with guides to find gorillas. It might take a few hours, but when we find them, it’s an incredible experience.
Today, we’ll leave Bwindi and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, where we’ll spend the day exploring.
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park: We’ll drive to Lake Mburo, stopping for lunch in Mbarara along the way.
Afternoon Boat Cruise at Lake Mburo Rwonyo Peninsula: In the afternoon, we’ll go on a boat ride on Lake Mburo. We’ll see lots of animals and birds along the way.
Today is our last day in Uganda, so we’ll spend the morning on one final game drive before heading back to Entebbe.
Morning Game Drive: We’ll go on a short game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, looking for any animals we might have missed.
Journey Back to Entebbe: After the game drive, we’ll drive back to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for a quick photo before heading to the airport for departure.
