Upon arrival, our guide will greet you and transfer you to Entebbe Airport for a domestic flight to either Kihihi or Kisoro, depending on the region of Bwindi you’ll be visiting. The flight, which takes approximately one to one and a half hours, offers stunning aerial views of Uganda’s diverse landscapes. Upon landing, our guide will transport you to your overnight lodge in Bwindi. You can choose between morning or afternoon flights, with departures at 7:45 am and 12:30 pm respectively. For the southern part of Bwindi, there is only a morning flight due to regional wind conditions.
After an early breakfast and with a packed lunch, you’ll proceed to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing on the rules and guidelines for Gorilla Trekking. Joined by experienced trackers, you’ll venture into the dense forest, following animal trails to locate the magnificent Gorillas. The trek can range from half an hour to three-quarters of the day, but the awe-inspiring encounter with these endangered creatures makes it all worthwhile.
Following breakfast, you’ll drive back to Kisoro or Kihihi for a domestic flight to Kasese Airstrip. From there, your driver guide will meet you and drive you to Kibale Forest National Park, where you’ll spend the night. This scenic drive takes approximately 1-2 hours, allowing you to soak in the natural beauty of the Ugandan landscape.
After breakfast, you’ll head to the Kibale National Park Headquarters for a briefing on Chimpanzee trekking protocols. Divided into small groups led by knowledgeable guides, you’ll venture into the forest in search of Chimpanzee families. With luck, you’ll encounter these intelligent primates in their natural habitat. You’ll spend an hour observing and immersing yourself in their fascinating behavior. In the afternoon, enjoy a wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village, known for its rich biodiversity and bird species.
Following breakfast, you’ll transfer to Mweya or Kasese Airstrip for your domestic flight back to Entebbe, where your unforgettable 5-day Gorilla and Chimp Fly-in Safari comes to an end. Depart with cherished memories of your primate encounters and the stunning natural wonders of Uganda.
