  Day 1: Arrival & transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  On Day 1, your adventure kicks off as you’ll be picked up from Kigali International Airport or any hotel in Kigali. Your destination is Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, known for its gorilla habituation experience. The drive is about 4-5 hours, taking you through the picturesque landscapes of a country often referred to as the “Pearl of Africa.” The journey involves crossing into Uganda at either Katuna or Chanika border. Along the way, there’s a stop at Kabale town (Katuna) or Kisoro (Chanika) before reaching Bwindi.

  Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  Day 2 starts with an early morning breakfast at your lodge before heading to the park headquarters. Packed lunch in tow, there’s a mandatory briefing about the rules for the trek. The search for the “Gentle Giants” can be a 1-7 hour hike, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Encountering them in their natural habitat is a thrilling experience that makes the trek worthwhile. You get 60 minutes (maximum) to observe, take photos, and enjoy the gorillas’ activities. A descent back to the lodge follows for lunch. If energy permits in the evening, there’s an option for a nature walk or a visit to local communities. Other options include exploring the Munyanja river trail or the Muzabajiro/Ruhija trails. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
