  Day 1: Arrival in Kigali –Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

  A guide from Iconic Africa Safaris picks you from Kigali International Airport or your hotel. After a briefing, you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. This forested park provides shelter to nearly 400 mountain gorillas. You check in at your lodge upon arrival and relax.

  Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience

  After breakfast, you go to the park headquarters for a briefing with rangers. Trekking through the dense forest takes 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movement. You spend one hour with these gentle giants before returning to the lodge. Later, enjoy an optional cultural visit to the Batwa community to learn about their traditions.

  Day 3: Travel to Akagera National Park

  After breakfast, you drive to Akagera National Park in Rwanda. This park is the only place for game drives in Rwanda. You arrive in the afternoon and check in at your lodge. A short evening game drive allows you to see zebras, giraffes, elephants, and other animals.

  Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Ride on Lake Ihema

  Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

  Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk
