  Day 1: Transfer to Fort Portal – Kibale Forest

  Take a beautiful 5-hour drive from Entebbe/Kampala to Fort Portal Town in western Uganda, enjoying stunning views of tea plantations, mountains, and local culture. In Fort Portal, talk to your private Chimp Habituation guide about visiting caves with historical myths about the Bachwezi people. Marvel at unique stalactites and stalagmites called “Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru.” Learn fascinating stories and cultural insights. Rest at your booked lodge and get ready for an exciting day with chimps in Kibale Forest National Park. Stay at the budget-friendly Chimpanzee Forest Guest House, meals include lunch and dinner (breakfast not included), with drinking water provided.

  Day 2: Chimp Habituation Experience or Chimpanzee Tracking

  After breakfast, head to Kibale Forest National Park for a briefing. You’ll be assigned a group to either track or spend the day with chimpanzees during their habituation. For the immersive experience, an early start is needed to see chimps before they start their day. Follow these interesting animals, learn about their behaviors, and see their homes. This 3-day tour includes encounters with not only chimps but also colobus monkeys, bush babies, and various birds. Kibale National Park has about 138 bird species. Enjoy a late lunch at your lodge, and for chimp tracking participants, visit Bigodi swamp to support local community conservation efforts.

  Day 3: Drive to Entebbe/Kampala or Entebbe Airport

  Following breakfast, we will drive you to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation or facilitate your departure from Uganda, should you choose to fly out today. The return journey follows the same route, allowing for a second stopover at the Equator.
