  Day 1: Arrival and Crossing to Goma, DR Congo

  As your adventure begins, our guide will welcome you either at Kigali International Airport or your lodging. Prepare for a captivating Kigali city tour, where you’ll explore significant sites including the poignant genocide memorial center. After a fulfilling lunch, you’ll journey to Gisenyi and proceed to cross the border into Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. An enriching day concludes with dinner and a restful overnight stay at your selected lodge.

  Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Encounter in Virunga National Park

  The day dawns with excitement as you enjoy an early breakfast. Proceed to Bukima Park Station in Virunga National Park, where experienced park rangers will provide insightful dos and don’ts for gorilla trekking. Your exhilarating journey into the Congo Jungle Forest to meet the mountain gorillas commences. The trek takes 3-6 hours, culminating in an hour’s encounter with these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Capture precious moments through photography and observe them interacting with their young ones. Afterward, return to the park headquarters, preparing for your transfer back to Goma for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

  Day 3: Ascending Nyiragongo Volcano

  After a nourishing morning meal, set out on a brief drive from Goma to Kabati, the starting point of your Nyiragongo volcano ascent with Virunga National Park. Receive essential guidance from park rangers and embark on a captivating hike through the lush rainforest, gradually ascending to the lava eruption fissure and ultimately reaching the summit. Revel in the breathtaking vistas from the crater as you witness the mesmerizing lava activity.

  Day 4: Descent from Nyiragongo and Return to Goma

  Begin your day with breakfast and begin your descent from the summit of Nyiragongo volcano. Upon reaching the base, you’ll be greeted by your driver. If time permits, engage in a city tour of Goma, exploring the intriguing Goma caves. Subsequently, head to the border, crossing into Rwanda. Conclude your expedition with a drive to Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your captivating journey.
