Your adventure begins with a pick-up by our guide either from Entebbe International Airport or your lodge in Kampala or Entebbe. You will embark on a scenic drive to Mbarara, the largest city in Uganda’s Western Region. Along the way, you’ll have a stop at the Equator, where you can take photos and enjoy some relaxation. Arriving in Mbarara, you can either opt for a city tour or unwind at your accommodation for the night.

After breakfast, you’ll visit Emburara Farm, which offers a fascinating introduction to Uganda’s agricultural practices. Here, you’ll explore banana plantations and learn about the entire banana farming process, from planting and nurturing to harvesting. Uganda is one of the largest producers of bananas in Africa, and this experience provides insight into the crop’s importance to the country’s economy and diet.
Next, you’ll have the chance to interact with the Long-horned Ankole cows. These majestic cattle are iconic in Uganda, known for their unique and impressive long horns. You will observe how they graze and learn about their significance in the lives of the local communities. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to Emburara Farm Lodge for an evening of relaxation.

Following the early morning breakfast, you will visit a nearby Kaberebere Pineapple farm about 40 minutes drive from Mbarara city, along the Isingiro Road. Pineapple farming is an integral part of agriculture in this region, and you will be guided by experienced farmers who will walk you through the process of planting, nurturing, and harvesting these delicious tropical fruits.
As part of the experience, you will have the opportunity to taste fresh, ripe pineapples straight from the plantation, allowing you to savor their unparalleled sweetness. This interactive farm visit not only showcases Ugandan agriculture but also provides an authentic, hands-on experience.
In the afternoon, your journey will continue as you drive towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda. The dense rainforest of Bwindi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for being home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. You will spend the night at Buhoma Lodge or any Lodge of your choice in preparation for your highly anticipated gorilla trekking adventure the next day.

This is the highlight of your trip! Following breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the day’s gorilla trekking activity. Bwindi is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, and trekking through its thick rainforest in search of these incredible creatures is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Led by expert guides, you’ll trek deep into the forest until you find the gorilla family assigned to your group. The duration of the trek can vary, depending on the location of the gorillas that day, but once you find them, you’ll have a full hour to spend observing them. Watching the gorillas as they interact with each other in their natural habitat is a truly humbling and awe-inspiring experience.
After your trek, you’ll return to Buhoma Lodge or any other Lodge of your choice for a well-deserved rest and a chance to reflect on the day’s incredible adventure.

On your final day of Agritourism and Gorilla Trekking, after a relaxed breakfast, you’ll begin the scenic drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of your adventure.
