Can You Change Your Gorilla Habituation Permit Date?
Yes, you can change the date of your gorilla habituation permit. If something comes up and you can’t go on the date you booked, you can ask to change it. You need to write to the Uganda Wildlife Authority and explain why you need to change the date. If they agree, they’ll move your permit to a new date if there’s availability.

Best Time to Book a Gorilla Habituation Experience Safari
The best time to do gorilla habituation is during the dry season. That’s from June to August and then again from December to January. During this time, the forest is less humid, and there’s more sunlight, which makes it easier to see the gorillas. But remember, even during habituation, gorillas are still wild animals, so they might hide from you or make noises. Make sure to wear the right clothes, like earthy colors, and be prepared for jungle conditions.
During the wet season, there are fewer tourists, so you might have a more peaceful experience. But it’s called the wet season for a reason! Expect rain and muddy trails. Still, if you don’t mind the rain and want a quieter experience, this could be the time for you. Just make sure to book your permit in advance, even though there are fewer tourists, permits can still be hard to get.
