This Rwanda and Zanzibar Beach Vacation for 10 Days takes you to Rwanda, a country known for its stunning landscapes dubbed as the “land of a thousand hills.” Rwanda is famous for its endangered mountain gorillas, found in only a few places worldwide. Alongside gorilla trekking, you have the option to explore Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, take part in activities like golden monkey tracking, and visit Nyungwe Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking or a canopy walk. After Rwanda, the journey continues to Zanzibar for the beach relaxation.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Upon arrival in Kigali, our friendly tour guide will greet you and take you on a city tour to familiarize yourself with Rwanda’s vibrant culture. After the tour, we’ll drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park for the night.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk in Nyungwe
After breakfast, we’ll head to Nyungwe Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking. Please note that these chimps are semi-habituated, so an early start increases our chances of spotting them. For adventure seekers, there’s the option of a canopy walk, offering bird watching and primate sightings. We return to the lodge for the night.

Day 3: Journey to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, we depart Nyungwe Forest for Volcanoes National Park, reaching in the late afternoon for overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on an exciting drive through Rwanda’s “Switzerland” to Volcanoes National Park. Here, we’ll trek through indigenous forests in search of gorillas, immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature. Lunch is served back at the lodge, followed by relaxation after the thrilling activity.

Day 5: Return to Kigali for Overnight Stay
After breakfast, we return to Kigali for a city tour and overnight stay.

Day 6: Travel to Zanzibar
On Day 6, you’ll head to Zanzibar. After breakfast, we’ll take you to Kigali International Airport for your flight. You’ll arrive at Zanzibar Airport and then go to your hotel or resort for dinner and the night. You’ll have dinner and breakfast provided, and you can relax and enjoy your stay.

Day 7: Beach Relaxation
Today is all about relaxing at the beach. You’ll have free time to do whatever you like. Whether it’s water sports, taking photos, or simply lounging on the beach, it’s your day to enjoy. You’ll stay at the same resort or hotel, and your meals will be provided.

Day 8: Dolphin Adventure
After breakfast, you’ll head south for a dolphin excursion. Lunch will be provided on the way. The tour takes you to Kizimkazi fishing village, where you can see dolphins in their natural habitat. There’s a chance to swim and snorkel too. The tour happens in the morning or afternoon, depending on the weather. You’ll be picked up from your hotel either at 6:00 am or 2:30 pm. After the tour, you’ll drive to Stone Town for the night.

Day 9: Explore Stone Town
After breakfast, you’ll explore Stone Town on foot. This historic town reflects a blend of African, Arab, Indian, and European cultures. You’ll have the morning for shopping and exploring the town’s unique architecture. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, and you’ll stay overnight in Stone Town.

Day 10: Departure
On your final day, you’ll head to the airport in the afternoon for your flight back home. The tour concludes here, and there’s no accommodation provided. Breakfast will be served before your departure.
