Day 1: Arrival in Kigali International Airport
Your journey begins as you arrive at Kigali International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by our driver guide. After a warm welcome, you’ll be transferred to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on a scenic drive to Ruhengeri, home to Volcanoes National Park. This park is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rare mountain gorillas. Check-in at Gorilla’s Nest Hotel or Kinigi Guesthouse for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park
Prepare for an exciting day as you venture into Volcanoes National Park for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: mountain gorilla tracking. After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the ranger guides. Then, set off on a thrilling trek through the lush forest in search of these gentle giants. Witnessing the majestic silverbacks and observing their behavior in their natural habitat will leave you in awe. Spend a precious hour in the presence of the gorillas before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Dian Fossey’s Grave
Today offers the opportunity for a variety of activities. You may choose to track the captivating golden monkeys, visit Dian Fossey’s grave, explore local community projects and schools, or embark on a hike to Muhavura or Bisoke volcanoes. After an eventful day, return to your accommodation at Gorilla’s Nest Hotel or Kinigi Guesthouse for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing for Kigali. If time permits, you can explore the city with a short tour before continuing your journey to Uganda. Upon arrival at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, settle in at Buhoma Community Bandas or Gorilla Resort Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Rise early for an exhilarating day of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your trek through the misty forest. Encounter the magnificent silverback gorillas and marvel at their beauty and grace. Spend an hour observing these incredible creatures in their natural habitat before returning to your lodge. In the evening, take a cultural walk through the indigenous Batwa community to learn about their rich heritage. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas or Gorilla Resort Hotel.
Day 6: Return to Kigali, Rwanda
After breakfast, bid farewell to the enchanting Bwindi forest as you embark on your journey back to Kigali. Enjoy lunch in Kigali before your guide transfers you to the airport for your onward flight home.
