Day 1: Transfer from Kigali, Rwanda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda
Your 2 Days Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi begins with a pickup from Kigali, Rwanda, where our representative will greet you. From there, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Passing through Rwanda’s northern town of Ruhengeri, we’ll cross into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border post. The route takes us through the charming towns of Kisoro or Kabale before reaching Bwindi National Park. The drive typically takes around 5 hours, bringing us to Bwindi in the early afternoon. Upon arrival, you’ll have the option to engage in various activities such as canoeing at Lake Mutanda, visiting the Batwa community, or experiencing a coffee-making session. Additionally, before departing for Uganda, we can arrange a complimentary tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Genocide Museum.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, we’ll head to the Bwindi National Park gate to begin our gorilla trek. Here, a briefing will be conducted by a national park guide, outlining what to expect during the trek. Groups for the trek will be assigned during this pre-trekking session, and you may be joined by other visitors. The duration of the trek can vary significantly, depending on the gorillas’ location within the forest, ranging from a few to several hours.
Following the gorilla trekking adventure, we’ll transfer back to Kigali, Rwanda. It’s important to note that as gorilla trekking can sometimes exceed 5 hours, it’s advisable not to schedule a flight out of Kigali before 10:00 p.m. local time. Remember that Uganda operates on East Africa Time (EAT), which is one hour ahead of Rwanda’s Central Africa Time (CAT).
