Day One: Journey to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Community Walk
Commence your adventure with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe at 6:30 am. As we travel westwards through picturesque landscapes, passing through Mityana, Mubende, Kyegegwa, Kyenjojo, and Fort Portal, you’ll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. In the evening, experience the wonders of the Bigodi Swamp during a community walk, spotting wildlife such as monkeys, bird species, butterflies, and snakes. Return to your lodge for a delightful dinner and overnight stay.
Day Two: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale Forest National Park
On the second day, prepare for an extraordinary half-day with the Chimpanzees in their natural habitat. With an early breakfast and packed lunch, venture into the forest before dawn, observing the Chimpanzees as they wake from their night’s rest. Capture memorable moments and learn to identify individual Chimpanzees by their unique markings. After your immersive experience, head back to the park offices for a graduation ceremony and receive a certificate for contributing to Chimpanzee conservation in Uganda’s Kibale Forest National Park.
Day Three: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Start your day with an early morning breakfast before checking out and heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to the majestic Mountain Gorillas. Enjoy stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains as you travel southwards through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its tree-climbing Lions and other remarkable wildlife. Lunch will be provided en-route, and you’ll check in to your accommodation located just outside the thick forest of Bwindi in the late afternoon.
Day Four: Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
The highlight of your adventure awaits on the fourth day as you engage in the Gorilla habituation experience. With an early breakfast and packed lunch, embark on a full-day interaction with semi-habituated Gorilla families. Capture breathtaking moments and learn to identify individual Gorillas by their markings. The four-hour experience begins when you find the fresh trails of the semi-habituated Mountain Gorilla family. After this immersive encounter, trek back to the park offices for a graduation ceremony, receiving a certificate for your contribution to Mountain Gorilla conservation in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Day Five: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
On your final day, enjoy a morning breakfast before checking out and starting your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Make a stopover in Mbarara city for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre and another at the Equator line in the Mpigi district for some memorable photos and crafts shopping. Proceed to your destination and arrive in the late afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport.
