Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Iconic Africa Safaris has a flight partner who can help you find and book the best international flights.
Upon arrival, a friendly representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Here, you can rest and relax after your flight.

Day 2: Fly to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the airport to board a domestic flight to Kasese. On arrival in Kasese, you’ll be picked up and taken to your lodge near Kibale Forest, where you will spend the next couple of days.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
Today is an exciting day! After breakfast, you’ll join a guided group to trek through Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees. Kibale Forest is one of the best places in Africa to see chimps in their natural environment. As you walk through the forest, listen to the sounds of the chimps calling out to each other.
Once you find a group of chimpanzees, you’ll spend about an hour observing their behavior, seeing how they eat, play, and interact. This close encounter with our closest animal relatives is truly unforgettable.
After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you have the option to take a guided walk to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. This is a great place to see different birds, monkeys, and even sitatunga, a type of antelope.

Day 4: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the airstrip and board a flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is known for its misty, dense forest and is home to the famous mountain gorillas. Once you arrive, a driver will take you to your lodge near Bwindi. You’ll have the afternoon to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of your surroundings.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today is the big day! Gorilla trekking is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of Uganda’s main attractions. You’ll start early, with breakfast at the lodge before heading to the Nkuringo Park headquarters for a briefing. Here, the park rangers will give you guidelines on how to behave around the gorillas and answer any questions you may have.
Once you’re ready, you’ll join a group and set off into the forest in search of a gorilla family. Bwindi’s thick forest can make the trek challenging, but it’s incredibly rewarding. After hiking for some time, you’ll come face-to-face with a gorilla family. You will have one hour to observe them closely and take photos. Seeing these gentle giants up close in their natural habitat is a moving and unforgettable experience.
After your trek, you’ll return to the lodge where you can relax for the rest of the day.

Day 6: Fly Back to Entebbe
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. Once you arrive in Entebbe, this will mark the end of your safari with Iconic Africa Safaris. If your international flight departs in the evening, you’ll have some time to relax in Entebbe or explore the town. We hope you’ll be leaving Uganda with incredible memories and photos of your adventures!
