Detailed Itinerary
Arrival
Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and picked up from the airport or your hotel. If required, additional accommodation before the tour departure can be arranged for an extra cost.
DAY 1: Transfer to Kasese
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Kasese, the starting point of your 3-day Mountain Rwenzori hiking journey. The journey takes approximately 8 hours, with a stopover in Mubende for lunch. As you travel, soak in the picturesque landscapes and anticipate the adventures that lie ahead. Upon reaching Kasese, you will check into a comfortable hotel, where you will spend the night, preparing yourself for the upcoming trek.
DAY 2: Transfer to Sine Camp
Today marks the commencement of your ascent towards the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. You will be transferred to the foothills of the mountain, where your trek begins. The hike from 1,450 meters to Sine Hut at 2,680 meters offers an immersive experience in the Afro Montane Forest Zone. As you ascend, you’ll traverse through tall forest trees, accompanied by a symphony of bird songs. Keep an eye out for blue monkeys frolicking amidst the branches and the occasional sighting of black and white Colobus monkeys. The trail is adorned with a diverse array of plant species, from towering trees to bamboo thickets, creating a captivating ambiance. En route, you may also catch glimpses of the elusive L’Hoest monkey, adding to the adventure. Arriving at Sine Camp, nestled amidst tall forest trees, you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at the beauty of the Afro Montane forest and the cascading Enock’s Falls nearby. For the adventurous souls, a trek to Kalalama Camp at 3,134 meters is an option, offering breathtaking views and additional exploration opportunities.
DAY 3: Descent and Departure
After a satisfying breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to the mountain and begin your descent. As you make your way down, take one last look at the awe-inspiring landscapes and cherish the memories created during your Mountain Rwenzori hiking adventure. Once back at the base of the mountain, you will set off on the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of your remarkable 3-day expedition.
