16 Days Uganda, Rwanda and Congo Adventure
The 16 Days Uganda, Rwanda and Congo adventure starts from Entebbe Uganda and ends in Kigali Rwanda. The safari will take you to the most visited destinations in Uganda that is Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Bunyonyi which is the deepest lake in Uganda and Lake Mburo National Park. During the safari you will have great views of wildlife including the big five mammals (elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, rhinos), other animals like Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles which will be viewed during the game drives and boat cruise. You will also engage in an adventurous chimpanzee and gorilla trekking experience where you will be able to spend time with the chimpanzees and mountain gorillas in their natural environment. The safari will also take you to Volcanoes National Park where you will engage golden monkey trekking and Ibyi’wacu cultural tour and Kahuzi-Biega National Park where you will visit the Eastern lowland gorillas.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to a Hotel in Entebbe
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari. You will then be transferred to a hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, your journey to Murchison Falls National Park begins. This drive takes about 5 to 6 hours. Along the way, you will enjoy beautiful views of the landscape and countryside. You will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking before proceeding to Masindi for lunch. Upon arrival at the park, you will visit the top of the falls to admire the magnificent waterfall and wildlife before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Morning Game Drive: Start the day with an early morning game drive where you can spot various animals such as Uganda kobs, warthogs, giraffes, elephants, bushbucks, lions, leopards, and hyenas. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon Boat Cruise: After lunch, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. During this trip, you will see elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and head to Kibale National Park. This is a full-day journey with a stop for lunch. Along the way, enjoy views of farmlands, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, and crater lakes. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Chimpanzee Trekking: After an early breakfast, head to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. You will be divided into groups and assigned a park guide. Trekking can take 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees. You will also spot other primates and bird species. Spend one hour with the chimpanzees observing their behavior and taking photos. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch.
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park: After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the scenic views along the way. Upon arrival, go for an afternoon game drive to spot animals like elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive/Lion Tracking and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Morning Game Drive/Lion Tracking: Start the day with a game drive or lion tracking experience in Kasenyi Plains. Spot animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and possibly lions and leopards. Return to the lodge for lunch.
Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel: After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. During the cruise, you will see animals drinking along the shores, hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Pass through Ishasha sector to spot the famous tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi, arriving in the evening. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Groups of 8 people will be assigned a gorilla family to trek. Trekking can take 30 minutes to 7 hours. Spend one hour with the mountain gorillas, observing their behavior and taking photos. After the trek, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours. Upon arrival, check into your lodge for lunch.
Boat Cruise/Canoe Ride: After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise or canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Explore some of the 29 islands, view bird species, and enjoy the scenic beauty. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Twin Lakes Tour
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, passing through the Cyanka or Katuna border. Visit the twin lakes of Lake Burera and Ruhondo. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Golden Monkey Trekking and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Tour
Golden Monkey Trekking: After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey trekking. Trekking takes 30 minutes to 4 hours. Spend one hour with the golden monkeys, watching them feed and play. Return to the lodge for lunch.
Cultural Tour: In the afternoon, visit the Ibyi’wacu cultural village to learn about the local culture, traditions, and enjoy traditional performances. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Enjoy en-route lunch. Upon arrival, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 13: Isumo Waterfall Hike and Canopy Walk
Isumo Waterfall Hike: After breakfast, enjoy a nature walk to Isumo Waterfall. During the hike, enjoy the sounds of the river, wildlife, and bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch.
Canopy Walk: In the afternoon, go for a canopy walk. Enjoy views of wildlife, primates, and birds from the treetops. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 14: Transfer to Kahuzi-Biega National Park
After an early breakfast, check out and transfer to Kahuzi-Biega National Park in Congo. Cross into Congo and check in at the tourism office at Grande Barrier border. Proceed to Bukavu town and check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 15: Lowland Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park
After breakfast, go for lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park. Trekking takes 1 to 4 hours. Spend one hour with the lowland gorillas, observing their behavior and taking photos. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 16: Departure to Kigali
After breakfast, check out and transfer back to Kigali. Enjoy en-route lunch. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or at a location of your choice.
