Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe. After settling in, you’ll have time to rest and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.

Your agro-tourism journey begins with a visit to Luwero, where you’ll explore a pineapple farm. Uganda is renowned for producing some of the sweetest pineapples in the world, and this day will be all about learning how they are cultivated and processed for export to international markets, including Japan and the USA.
You’ll have the chance to participate in harvesting your own pineapples and take them home as a souvenir. Additionally, you’ll learn how pineapples are preserved and packaged to maintain their freshness for export. After enjoying lunch at the processing plant, you’ll return to your hotel to rest.

Start your day early with breakfast before heading to the Katende Harambe Demonstration Farm. This farm specializes in teaching small-scale farming techniques and sustainable agricultural practices. You will learn about managing nurseries, mulching, water harvesting, banana plantations, and livestock rearing.
A highlight of this farm is its energy production methods, where farm bi-products are used to create sustainable energy, demonstrating a complete cycle of farming. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre, where you’ll enjoy lunch and immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of the Ankole people. On Day 5, you’ll visit Ntungu Farm, which specializes in bee-keeping. This visit offers an in-depth look at the processes involved in apiculture, including honey production, bee venom harvesting, and the collection of other bee products such as propolis and wax. The health benefits and uses of these products will be explained, encouraging participants to consider the importance of integrating apiculture into farming.
In the afternoon, you’ll gain hands-on experience in animal husbandry. You’ll learn how to care for cattle, milk cows, and even how to make butter, providing an authentic farm-to-table experience.

Bananas, especially the green variety known locally as “Matooke,” are a staple food in Uganda. Today, you will visit a banana plantation to learn about banana farming, from planting to harvesting. You’ll also learn about the cultural significance of bananas and how they are processed for consumption. In the afternoon, a visit to a mango farm is included to explore how mangoes are cultivated in Uganda.

Today, you’ll drive to Fort Portal, a journey that will take around three hours. Upon arrival, you’ll visit a vanilla farm where you will learn about the delicate process of growing, harvesting, and processing vanilla beans. Vanilla is one of Uganda’s key export crops, and this visit will provide valuable insight into its production.

Uganda is one of Africa’s major tea producers, and today’s visit will take you to a tea plantation. The morning will be spent learning about the stages of tea production, from planting and harvesting to the processing that results in the final product ready for export. After lunch at Tinka’s Home, you will participate in a cooking demonstration to learn how to prepare some of Uganda’s traditional meals.

Day 9 begins with a relaxing nature walk around the Ndali Crater Lakes, a scenic area filled with diverse bird species and primates, including baboons and monkeys. The tranquil environment provides the perfect backdrop for bird watching and taking in Uganda’s natural beauty. After the walk, you’ll have a free afternoon to relax and reflect on everything you’ve learned over the past few days.
